Jenepher had lost count of the number of times she’d heard this mantra from her energetic and ambitious husband, Louis. But she didn’t imagine that upon Louis’s retirement from his orthopedic surgery practice, he would charm her into starting a business they knew nothing about, building a new house and a pet boarding kennel in the beautiful countryside of Washington State. About the Author

Jenepher Field was born and raised in New Zealand, and was educated in New Zealand, England, and the United States. She holds degrees in history, applied behavioral science, and clinical psychology. She has worked in bookstores and libraries, as a technical editor, as a secretary, and as a mental health counselor. Her longest-term job has been that of wife and mother. Jenepher is married to Louis Field, a native of Kansas. After extensive education in the States and abroad, Louis settled into an orthopedic surgery practice in Washington State, where he and Jenepher would later establish Sagemoor Kennels. Jenepher has had a lifelong passion for the written word; early in life, she experienced the controversy good writing can inspire, when at age 7 she was given an “F” for her essay “My Pet Monkey,” describing a pet she didn’t actually have. While this experience was discouraging, Jenepher’s life circled back around to her love of writing; at every opportunity, she writes poetry and short stories, and she is working on two historical novels.
