Was It For Me?

Zechariah 7 is the story of how the people of Bethel sent representatives to the temple to seek the favour of the Lord and an answer to a question about a special fast they had observed for seventy years.

The response fo the Lord to their questions was not what they expected. As they stood before the Lord that day, these religious men were exposed for who they really were. The motives of their hearts were unveiled.

The passage reminds us that God's ways are not always our ways and He does not see us as we see ourselves. As you study this passage, you will be forced to search your own motivations in serving God. Zechariah 7 teaches us that it is not how we see ourselves that matters but rather how God sees us.
