Interviews

”Bound by the serene waterways of Puget Sound and the evergreen forests of the Cascade Range, Seattle is surrounded by some of the most spectacular scenery in the world. Despite its notoriously rainy climate, Seattle is made up of a culture that loves the great outdoors as much as it enjoys cozying up in a coffeehouse on a grey day. From the early days of lumber and gold to today’s world of jets and high tech, Seattle continues to grow with the times yet also retains its charm by keeping its cool, down to earth attitude. It’s no wonder so many want to experience the Seattle lifestyle!

When I travel to a new place, I love to slow down long enough to be able to capture a sliver of what life might be like to live there. Instead of seeing just the top destinations, I make time to sit at a cafe for an afternoon soaking up the vibe or to explore a lesser known neighborhood and watch everyday life. My idea of slowing down may be taking the time to capture the colors I see throughout the day, or making a note of the slang words I hear from the locals in conversation.

For me, experiential travel like this is about context, opening my eyes to learn a little about the history of the place while removing any preconceived judgement I may have brought with me. Ultimately it’s about being open to any experience that may come my way.

So, join me on this creative journey as we explore the Pacific Northwest gem, Seattle!”
