About the Author

Joan Rosier-Jones lives in Wanganui, New Zealand, but she loves to travel, particularly to Ireland where her partner was born and raised. They came across Carraigh castle and manor house on one visit and the story of Black Tom Butler waiting for Elizabeth to visit him in Ireland haunted her. On a second visit she started research for this novel. She has long been active in the politics of being a writer and is a past National President of the New Zealand Society of Authors. Also by Joan Rosier-JonesFiction:Cast Two ShadowsVoyagersCanterbury TalesMother TongueYesNon-fiction:Writing Your Family HistorySo You Want to WriteThe Murder of Chow Yat
