About the Author

Very little is known of the author who signed the book "C.C. Robin," though it is possible to retrieve information about his life from his biographical account. He was a widower, and he came to America with his only son, who died of yellow fever after their arrival. He appears to have a background in science and natural history. Yet much is conjecture; C.C. Robin's identity has not yet been pinpointed.

Stuart O. Landry, Jr., is a linguist with degrees from Harvard and the University of California at Berkley.
