About the Author

T. J. Coles studies the philosophy of neurology and cognition at the University of Plymouth, UK, with reference to the aesthetic experiences of the blind and visually impaired. He is director of the Plymouth Institute for Peace Research (PIPR), editor and coauthor of Voices for Peace and author of The New Atheism Hoax (both 2015, PIPR). His political writings have appeared in the New Statesman, Lobster, Peace Review and Z Magazine. He is also a columnist with Axis of Logic and in 2013 was shortlisted for the Martha Gellhorn Prize for journalism.

Noam Chomsky is an American linguist, philosopher, cognitive scientist, historian, logician, social critic, and political activist. The "father of modern linguistics" is a major figure in analytic philosophy and a founder of the field of cognitive science. He has spent more than half a century at MIT, where he is Institute Professor Emeritus and the author of more than a hundred books on linguistics, war, politics, mass media and more.

John Richard Pilger is an Australian journalist and documentary film maker based in the United Kingdom since 1962. Pilger has been a strong critic of American, Australian, and British foreign policy, which he considers to be driven by an imperialist agenda. Pilger has also criticized his native country's treatment of Indigenous Australians.

Ilan Pappé, born in 1954, is an expatriate Israeli historian and socialist activist. He is a professor with the College of Social Sciences and International Studies at the University of Exeter in the UK, director of the university's European Centre for Palestine Studies, and codirector of the Exeter Centre for Ethno-Political Studies.

Paolo Sensini is a historian and geopolitical expert, whose books include La rovina antica e la nostra (2006); Il «dissenso» nella sinistra extraparlamentare italiana dal 1968 al 1977 (2010); Libia 2011 (2011); and Divide et Impera. Strategie del caos per il XXI secolo nel Vicino e Medio Oriente (2013). Sensini has also edited and introduced key works by Bruno Rizzi, Ante Ciliga, Josef Dietzgen, and Sergej Mel'gunov for publication in Italian.

Bruce K. Gagnon is the Coordinator of the Global Network Against Weapons & Nuclear Power in Space. He was a co-founder of the Global Network when it was created in 1992.

Kathy Kelly (born 1952) is an American peace activist, pacifist, author, a founding member of Voices in the Wilderness, and a joint coordinator of Voices for Creative Nonviolence. As part of peace team work in several countries, she has traveled to Iraq numerous times, notably remaining in combat zones during the early days of both US-Iraq wars. Her recent travel focused on Afghanistan and Gaza, along with domestic protests against US drone policy. She has been arrested more than sixty times at home and abroad and wrote of her experiences among targets of US military bombardment and inmates of US prisons. She lives in Chicago.

Robin Ramsay is the editor and publisher of the journal Lobster. He is the author of Prawn Cocktail Party, The Rise of New Labour, and Who Shot JFK?

Brian Terrell is a joint coordinator of Voices for Creative Nonviolence. He lives on a Catholic Worker Farm in Maloy, Iowa.
