Overview

The official soundtrack to the Aussie metal giants documentary film of the same name, Viva the Underdogs features 11 songs culled from the group's 2019 headlining set at Germany's Wacken Open Air, as well as new German-language studio recordings of three of their most notable cuts. Commencing with a powerhouse performance of "Prey," the second track from 2018's acclaimed Reverence, Parkway Drive cycle through highlights of their 15-year career, delivering neck-snapping renditions of fan faves like "Crushed," "Bottom Feeder," "The Void," and "Carrion." The re-tooled German versions of "Vice Grip," ("Wuergegriff"), "The Void," ("Die Leere"), and "Shadow Boxing" ("Schattenboxen") retain all of the power of the originals while offering German fans the opportunity to pump their fists and sing along in their native tongue. ~ James Christopher Monger
