About the Author

Christina Stork is the owner of Article Pract, an award-winning San Francisco yarn shop. Before making knitting her full-time profession, she was a culinary writer. Leslie Barbazette is the founder of Citizen Bags, a commercial line of hand-knitted totes and accessories. This is her first book. David Verba is a fine-art photographer best known for his black-and-white studies of the American western landscape.

Knitted ponchos-for now, at least-are in as fashion accessories. These two titles are excellent, so if the demand is there and you can afford both, do make the investment. Otherwise, consider Viva Poncho if your patrons fall into the young, trendy, "learning-mode" category and Ponchos & Wraps if they're a tad older and looking for classic designs and more challenging knitting techniques. Viva Poncho features a handy chart listing skills required and skills learned for each project and offers 20 poncho and capelet patterns, while Ponchos & Wraps grades patterns by difficulty level and features 22 in all, including some beautiful knitted lace garments.
