Overview

Cell culture is the process, by which prokaryotic or ukaryotic cells are grown under certain conditions. Practically the term 'cell culture' has referred to the culturing of cells, derived from the multicellular eukaryotes. The development and method of the cell culture are closely interrelated to those of tissue culture and organ culture. Cell can be isolated from tissues for ex vivo culture in several ways. Cells can easily be purified from blood, however only the white cells are capable of growth in culture. This work presents a very realistic and systematic description of cell culture, which proves to be useful for scholars and students alike.
