Victim to Warrior is one woman's exploration of self through the mirror of a shamanic journey. This non-fiction narrative describes an experience of deconstruction of patterns of the ego through releasing the perception of reality as seen through the eyes of judge and victim. Victim to Warrior is a journey toward awakening. We all have an inner calling that leads us toward a more fulfilled destiny, and in following our path, doors open to teach us and enhance our world. The story begins in the Gila Wilderness, where the author is contacted by a shaman in a dream. This propels her forward to explore the shamanic teachings and discover the patterns and constraints that are keeping her stuck. Leaving familiar surroundings to pursue the call, she explores the pyramids in Teotihuacan, goes whale watching in Baja, fire walking in California experiences Peruvian shamanism on the Amazon River, and explores the ruins of Machu Picchu in an effort to allow life to teach her and here awakening to occur. Facing herself—her own perceptions and limitations—becomes the most challenging of her tasks.
