Overview

Rejection happens to everybody at some point - some more than others. Abuse comes in many forms, including self-abuse. This is a book to help you become an overcomer; it's an adventure story that has the potential to heal your wounds of rejection and abuse. It will also help you go forward to a new day of unlimited potential.

Vashti was a queen who was forever banished by her husband King Xerxes. The story is told in the Book of Esther. During a celebration and in a drunken state, the King orders his wife to come and parade her beauty in front of all his drunken buddies. She refuses which sets off a pride fueled panic amidst the Kings advisors. Eventually, they urge the King to sign a decree that will banish her from his presence forever. This will be a lesson to all women everywhere to do what their husbands order them to do.

There is no record of what happened to Vashti after her banishment. This is a book of what might have happened to Vashti after her banishment. The book gives a glimpse into the possibilities of what her life may have been like. She was rejected and abandoned; they took her crown away. Was she bitter, angry, hurt, confused, vengeful, retaliatory, spiteful, forgiving, graceful, or courageous during the scorning process?

How many people, both men, and women have been rejected and abandoned today? What is the cause and effect of abandonment and rejection? Has it happened to you? What is your response?

Vashti's Response is an examination of the cause and effect in the bitter roots of relationships. It's a journey of healing using the revelatory signposts of God's promises to guide us on the way. You were meant to live a life of growth and fruitfulness. You are like the seed rejected from the farmers hand into the brokenness of the ground. You are meant to survive and grow through seasons of storm and drought. You were perfectly created, given to an imperfect world by an all-loving God who receives you as you are. His grace and mercy are just a surrendered thought away.

There is a plan and a purpose for your life that includes conflict and struggle. The butterfly struggles out of its cocoon before it flies in freedom. The struggle within the cocoon forces fluid into the butterfly's wings. With strengthened wings, the butterfly emerges from its confinement in spectacular fashion. You are meant to struggle and fly. Will you stay wrapped in your wounds of rejection?

Life is not meant to be lived in a cocoon without the struggle. This is your time, this is your season; let go and embrace the struggle. It's your time to shine!
Say it out loud now!: "IT'S MY TIME TO SHINE!"

About the Author

Bob Kuebler is a respected husband, proud father and grateful son. His greatest joy is to see the “Ah Ha!” in a child’s eyes when they understand what unconditional love is. As the Founder of Youth With A Purpose, he has collaborated with many organizations and people to help mentor thousands of young people. Bob and his wife Linda are Relationship Mentors who teach children and adults how to build healthy relationships. These experiences have helped him to become a published author.
YWAP is a Relationship Mentoring Program that has been working with young people for over 12 years. YWAP Programs can be found in school, after school, in the neighborhood and in the mountains. Our Classroom Mentoring Program helps raise grades and reduce behavioral problems in the Buffalo Schools. Our Mission is to help inner-city young people build solutions to poverty and violence.
Bob is an experienced wilderness guide who has helped many young people climb the mountains of life as well as the Adirondack Mountains in NY. Children are sometimes safer on top of a mountain than they are on city streets. Buffalo, NY is one of the most impoverished and violent cities in America.
As a member of Climbing for Christ, Bob trekked on Mt. Kilimanjaro along with serving in orphanages in Tanzania and Malawi. (I never reached the top of Kili as I succumbed to altitude sickness at 17,300.’) Sometimes the greatest lessons in life are learned through our failure to reach goals. Linda has made the summit of Kili along with many other high points around the world.
Bob loves to see the look on a gang members face as he or she stands on top of a mountain for the first time. The greatest view in the world is the sight of accomplishment on a young person’s face as they believe that they can climb the mountains of life. We believe in teaching healthy relationship skills. A young lady should expect to be respected by a young man. Bob believes that all children are gifted and have the capacity to learn how to respect life as they respect other persons.
Bob is a speaker, songwriter and published author. His favorite sayings are:
“It’s good to see you!”
“I’m glad you’re here!”
“How can I help you?”
“Thanks for your time.”
“Go do something nice for somebody!”
“Jesus loves you and so do we!”
