Walter Sokol was born in Jersey City, New Jersey. Walter attended St Peter’s Jesuit grade school, preparatory school and college in Jersey City. After returning from the Army, he resumed work at Maxwell House Coffee, a subsidiary of General Foods, in Hoboken, New Jersey and attended classes at NYU where he earned his MBA.
Walter worked in Managerial Accounting Positions for General Foods, The F&M Schaeffer Brewing Company, Corn Products Corporation, and was a dean at Warren County Community College. His responsibilities expanded to include computer operations and systems design. Computers were new and growing more important. From the time that he earned his MBA, accounting and information processing were his areas of responsibility. He was active in Management Information Systems (MIS) meetings in New York City.
At Maxwell House, his responsibilities included plant location and distribution problems.
At Schaeffer, he was Director of Computer Operations, Systems Design and Planning.
At CPC (SB Thomas Inc.) he was Vice President of Finance and on the Board of Directors. While at CPC, he had a one year assignment to the Conference Board in Manhattan NY.
In addition, he was a consultant at Deloitte and Touché where his clients were in construction and education in Puerto Rico and Florida. Currently, he is in private practice as a Certified Public Accountant.
Mr. Sokol lives and works in Northeast Pennsylvania with his wife Eileen,a Real Estate Agent and their faithful German Shepard Nikita.
