USA: the newest mob invasion
Many countries have their national giants, those who bring wealth and spread opportunity and prosperity wherever they set their feet. In Brazil, the Workers’ Party had a vision of expansive business conglomerates that would conquer the world. The real intention, however, had always been to divert public money to their party's coffers and into the pockets of politicians and the people connected to them. JBS, owned by the brothers Wesley and Joesley Batista, was one of these projects, and a company that ended up being “the flesh of my flesh” of the Workers’ Party – in a warped view of the biblical quote. The company made use of financing systems provided by public banks and other public and private agents to perpetrate its fraud. It has spread its tentacles into many corporate sectors, causing damage to numerous business owners, workers and – ultimately – to the country’s taxpayers. This book tells the story of their dirty scams in a direct, easy to understand way. The only thing that is difficult to understand is the capacity that Brazil has to generate so many characters who, at first glance, appear to be entrepreneurial champions, yet soon reveal themselves to be mere traitors of the law
