Overview

Unworthy is a poetry book written by Anbini Ganesh with the hope of providing insight into the minds of her generation. An excerpt from the prologue:

Un·wor·thy
Adj.: not deserving effort, attention, or respect.
Un·wor·thy
This book reveals the immigrants, the artists, the teenagers tentatively stepping across the threshold after isolation, the advocates, the striving students, the innovators: the worthy who feel un·wor·thy.
If you are a member of the rising generation, I hope you see yourself within these pages— in the hidden space between each line and in the ink that stains the paper. And to everyone else: I hope you see the future of our world in a new light—a piece of our story through those moments that typically escape words.

About the Author

Anbini is currently (at the time of publication) a junior at Lakeside School, Seattle. She is a writer, baker, photographer, and entrepreneur who has been awarded four regional Scholastic Awards for her writing and photography and has been published eight times in Lakeside’s Literary and Art Magazine, IMAGO. As the CEO and Founder of the national charitable organization, Love and Sweet Bakery, Anbini assists diverse communities through meal donations to homeless shelters, online sales, and fundraisers with the help of her multicultural, multireligious team. As she is passionate about raising awareness on issues of mental health, her nonprofit conducts fundraisers that specifically donate to mental health-related organizations, such as Teen Link and NEDA. Love and Sweet Bakery has 14 chapters to-date across the United States. Furthermore, Anbini is an Executive Board Member of Peer Responders and an Ambassador at Recovery Meet-ups, two teen-oriented mental health organizations that train and help heal students in crisis. An athlete and health-focused chef and baker, Anbini takes an interest in nutritional well-being, and writes monthly articles focused on nutritional science for the TEENHEALTHNOW newsletter, an online organization focused on the fitness and well-being of teenagers. For the future, Anbini is interested in studying business and law, but wants to start by following her heart in social entrepreneurship.
