Overview

A sex guru in the Nevada desert who may or may not be a vampire, a trio of women friends whose quest to find the 'perfect man' has deadly repercussions, an ex-rodeo rider whose woodcarving avocation conceals a gruesome secret -- these are some of the characters in erotic horror writer Lucy Taylor's newest collection of short stories. Not for the faint of heart or those who like their horror lite.

About the Author

LUCY TAYLOR was born in Richmond, VA, and never really got the South out of her system, as evidenced by the flavor of Southern Gothic in many of her works. She's published seven novels, including NAILED, SAVING SOULS, and LEFT TO DIE (under the pseudonym Taylor Kincaid), and over 100 short stories.

Her novel THE SAFETY OF UNKNOWN CITIES won the Bram Stoker Award for Best First Novel in 1996. She's also been the recipient of the International Horror Critics' Guild Award and the Deathrealm Award.

Most recently, her work has appeared in the short story collection UNSPEAKABLE AND OTHER STORIES, the anthology series EXOTIC GOTHIC 1, 2 and 3, 21st CENTURY GOTHIC, THE CENTURY'S BEST HORROR FICTION, and THE BEST OF BEST NEW EROTICA.

At various times in her life, Taylor has worked as a dance instructor, a bartender and waitress, an English teacher for a language school in Tokyo, an artist's model, secretary, ghostwriter, newspaper reporter, editor, and freelance travel writer.

Her volunteer work has included hospice volunteer, feral cat trapper and feeder, public speaker on spirituality and aging, and Buddhist meditation teacher at a mens' prison in CA.

Taylor's love of travel has led to many adventures (not to mention ideas for plots)! She's been on safari in Zimbabwe, jogged with a troop of baboons in Zaire, ridden a camel in Coober Pedy, Australia, hangglided in Queenstown, New Zealand, gotten married on a beach in Fiji, scuba dived in St. Lucia, lost her passport, plane ticket and wallet in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, pony trekked in Iceland, and confessed her sins to a priest in Paris.

She lives in Pismo Beach, CA, with an assortment of delightful, but demanding, felines, and wouldn't have it any other way!
Her next book Fatal Journeys will appear in 2013 from Overlook Connection Press.
