Eddie is living on the edge in his last year of high school, as he battles the demons of depression and anxiety. Unable to understand his affliction, he lives fast and plays hard trying to stay one step ahead of his illness. He boxes, plays football, and falls in love while falling apart at the seams.

His good friend Jess falls into the throws of addiction and she unwittingly involves him in her dangerous world. In the process of protecting her from harm, he puts himself in grave danger.

Living a chaotic life at home fuels the fire that rages inside of him. He finds himself at war with his father, himself, and anyone else who comes looking.

His friends have their own issues to deal with making their lives difficult and challenging. They rely on each other for moral and physical support to get through trying times. They are forced to make decisions about living a life of chaos or leaving to try and make a fresh start. Eddie is forced to make tough decisions regarding the love of his life, leaving her will crush him, staying in this town will lead to tragedy. He must decide how to save himself from the Hunter, a name coined by Eddie to describe the inner voice of angst and depression. The Hunter has gnawed at his sanity since childhood and is moving in for the kill.
