About the Author

Deborah Gordon Cooper, 2012-2014 Poet Laureate of Duluth, Minnesota, describes the crafting of poetry as a contemplative practice, an act that opens us to insights and connections that might otherwise go unnoticed. Cooper has used poetry extensively in her work as a hospice chaplain. She co-edited the anthology: "Beloved on the Earth: 150 Poems of Grief and Gratitude" (Holy Cow! Press, 2009), and she frequently teaches writing classes for those who are grieving the loss of a loved one. She also conducts workshops on the interfacing of poetry and spirituality, and has mentored inmates at the St. Louis County Jail. Deborah is the author of four previous collections of poems, most recently "Between the Ceiling & the Moon," published by Finishing Line Press as part of its New Women’s Voices Series.
