Davidson's tenth entry in the "Queen Betsy" series (from Undead and Unwed to Undead and Unfinished) starts with Betsy waking up in a morgue. Her last memories are of the time-traveling trip she took with her sister, the Antichrist, where they visited hell. Betsy returns to her beloved home only to find that everything has changed, and she is now in an "alternate timeline" with the knowledge of what will happen in the future—and she is determined to change it. Trying to follow the quick changes in the time lines and thought processes is difficult. To make matters worse, the story has little substance. Narrator Nancy Wu accurately portrays the snarky and often self-centered Betsy but misses the richness and sexiness of Betsy's husband, Eric Sinclair.
