About the Author

Born in 1953, Michael Fogler has been a faculty member at several college music departments in the Central Kentucky area. He has also been an academic advisor at the University of Kentucky’s College of Arts and Sciences.
Eschewing career labeling and orientation, Fogler, at the time of writing this book, called himself a “semiretired stay-at-home-Dad, freelance musician, writer, and peace activist.” A classically-trained guitarist, he spent much of his time as a musician, activist, and homeschooling with his son. He has led seminars and workshops on peacemaking, nonviolence, cultural diversity, and voluntary simplicity in his local area and occasionally in other areas of the country at conferences and other gatherings.
His many interests include music, nonviolence, environmentally-sustainable living, the Green Party, the men’s movement, and the cooperative movement. Un-Jobbing is his first and only book. Currently, he remains a freelance musician, writer, and activist, and works part-time at his local food co-op.
Fogler lives with his wife Suzanne McIntosh in Lexington, Kentucky.
