Overview

Thank you for choosing Ultimate Blackjack Strategies to help improve your casino blackjack play and minimize, if not eliminate, your monetary contributions toward building the next casino mega resort. This book is designed to benefit the non-card-counting player, regardless of their current level of play or reasons for wanting to improve their game. It clearly describes the basic concepts of casino blackjack and thoroughly explains the supporting science that substantiates those concepts. Totally comprehending the basics is a prerequisite for learning the advanced strategies that can actually turn the tables on the house advantage.
The initial sections in this book will make it possible for beginners to learn how to play the game correctly before stepping foot into a casino. It will also help the casual player that’s wishes to minimize the casino advantage. Expert and professional level playing and mathematics-based counting systems will be addressed in my next book scheduled for release in early 2012.
Blackjack players can compete virtually even with the house by diligently adhering to stated rules that comprise the Basic Strategy and the underlying game’s principles. Incorporating advanced playing strategies and using even the very simplest of counting systems can provide an edge over the casino without using sophisticated card counting systems.
Possessing the knowledge and ability to level the playing field with casinos can provide monetary opportunities for educated players. Aside from the entertainment factor of playing blackjack competitively and winning more frequently, competent players with even moderate bankrolls can enjoy complementary rooms, gourmet restaurants and star-studded shows. In other words, you can exploit the offering of these perks just by playing in their casinos. Infrequent casino visitors, weekend warriors, as well as want-to-be professionals interested in earning an income from playing blackjack will benefit from reading this book.
Casinos do not like to lose at any of the games they offer. They are well aware that blackjack can be beaten, and have installed blackjack counter measures in an effort to minimize the chances of that happening. Players need to educate themselves and become skilled enough to exploit casino vulnerabilities (as they most certainly will exploit yours), take advantage of every opportunity and swing that house edge around to your side of the table. Reading this book, learning the underlying strategies and applying this knowledge correctly in casino play will have its monetary benefits.

About the Author

I was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1948. I graduated Pace University with a degree in business and mathematics, and studied finance and mathematical applications at New York University. I went on to working on Wall Street as a business analyst, specializing in financial services, with Coopers Lybrand, a big eight accounting and management consulting firm. I excelled within the Wall Street community and became Director of Operations at the National Securities Clearing Corporation (NSCC). Several years later, I started my own management consulting business.
During the late seventies while on vacation in Las Vegas, I took an interest in blackjack because it was not governed by the 'Laws of Independent Trials' like most other games, e.g. craps, roulette, the big wheel, etc. (the book explains this in detail). I spent a great deal of time reading every book on blackjack I could get my hands on. They all confirmed my belief that blackjack is beatable game. I quickly learned how to count cards and started applying my newfound skills in casino play.
Atlantic City opened its doors to casino gambling in 1978, making travel from New York easier. I became a weekend warrior, while advancing to more sophisticated counting systems. I approached a geek at work to write me a special computer program that would allow me perform blackjack ‘what if’ analyses and probability tests while at work. This enabled me to modify and improve existing card counting systems. I was successful and soon began making more money on the weekends than I was at my full-time job. My managers ran my business while I took a leave of absence and played blackjack full-time. I moved from one casino to the other while alternating between Atlantic City and Las Vegas to avoid drawing attention. After a number of years and too many repeated visits to same casinos, I was caught unaware by a Vegas pit boss. He politely pulled me aside to where two huge security guards were standing and said "buddy, you've been made". I then went back to Atlantic City and decided to organize a team, teaching other players my system. Thereby continuing to capitalize on my skills without drawing much attention. It was a long wild ride, making a great deal of money, meeting up with a number of interesting characters, and living the life of a king on casino ‘comps’ (complementary suites, five-star restaurants and enjoyed top shelf entertainment). Now it's your turn.
