George A. Soper (1870—June 17, 1948) was a sanitation engineer, best known for discovering Mary Mallon - or Typhoid Mary - a carrier of Typhoid who had no symptoms. In 1917, Soper published a short 10-page narrative of his run in with the infamous Typhoid Mary, under the title "Typhoid Mary."
