Bromberg (the Driven series) opens her Tangled Hearts series with a sexy contemporary about corporate espionage and revenge. Rowan Rothschild was never the demure debutant her parents wanted; that role was played by her late twin, Cassie. Rowan, on the other hand, has a mind for business and wants to make a name for herself at TinSpirits, the liquor company that’s been in her family for generations. But as vice president of marketing, all she can do is watch as her incompetent and condescending brother, Rhett, the current CEO, drives the business into the ground. Things get so bad that Rhett brings in wealthy Holden Knight to buy them out. Unbeknownst to the Rothschilds, Holden was once a server at the country club where they were members—and where Rhett and his cronies treated him like dirt. Their actions contributed to the death of Holden’s younger brother, Mason, and now Holden’s out for revenge—and he doesn’t care who he has to hurt to get it. Rowan and Holden have red-hot chemistry, and the eventual sex scenes do not disappoint. Bromberg drills down into the psyche of each character just enough to keep readers hooked. The taut plot and tantalizing cliff-hanger will have readers eagerly anticipating the next installment. (Sept.)
