Twilight of the Elves
Zed, Brock, and their friends may have saved Freestone from destruction, but the fight against the Dangers is far from over. No one knows what to expect next from the dark power that forced the elves to abandon their city. And the influx of elf refugees in Freestone strains resources and brews resentment among the townspeople. Things have shifted between best friends Zed and Brock, as well, with their friendship crumbling under the weight of the secrets they're keeping from each other. When tensions reach an all-time high, Queen Me'Shala, leader of the elves, approaches the Adventurers Guild with a mission. She wants a small group of adventurers to go behind the king's back on a covert mission to save her city, and Zed, Brock, Liza, Jett, Micah, and their elven friend Fel join the quest. To face a powerful form of magic thought to be extinct, the adventurers will have to learn how to rely on each other and fight harder than ever before.

Don't miss this second installment of Zack Loran Clark and Nicholas Eliopulos's Adventurers Guild trilogy, where the stakes are raised, the action is breathless, and the dangers will stop even the bravest of hearts.

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

"Twilight of the Elves, like its predecessor, The Adventurers Guild, is great fun punctuated by increasingly scary dangers. . . . best friends Zed and Brock must confront a refugee crisis, bigotry and an army of undead elves."—Shelf Awareness

Praise for The Adventurers Guild:

A Kirkus Reviews Best Middle Grade Book

A Junior Library Guild Selection

*"This tale is a page-turner that has the perfect mix of suspense, Princess Bride humor, and engaging characters, one that's definitely earned the sequel to come. A dazzling adventure sure to become a classic, if not a movie."—Kirkus, starred review

"If you're someone who likes a thrilling adventure with a surprise on every page, this book is for you."— Time for Kids

"Fast-paced adventure. The diverse group of friends... works solidly as a team, but secrets and divided loyalties create enough tension to keep things interesting...A cliffhanger of an ending sets up a larger conflict for the next volume, and readers will be eager to join the guild for their further adventures."— BCCB

"Hazards, betrayals, and quick-witted banter abound in this gripping series opener... Clark and Eliopulos weave a thread of post-apocalyptic adventure into a classic questing saga, replete with spells, enchanted weaponry, and mythological beings—elves, kobolds, gelatinous goo, and more."— Publishers Weekly

DECEMBER 2018 - AudioFile

Narrator Johnny Heller invites listeners back to Freestone as he portrays the apprentices who are fighting to save the elves’ city of Llethanyl. Zed and Brock are drifting apart, a fact that Heller emphasizes with their cold tones toward one another. Liza and Micah are both given English accents, while dwarf son Jett and elven ranger Callum speak with Scottish accents. Undaunted by the full cast spanning various ages, races, and classes, and smoothly switching between accents, tempos, and attitudes, Heller keeps listeners captivated by this fast-paced story. He even adds sound effects that augment the imagery. Though intended for middle grade listeners, this performance is sure to find fans among older audiences as well.
