About the Author

Irene Latham is a grateful creator of many novels, poetry collections, and picture books, including the co-authored Can I Touch Your Hair? Poems of Race, Mistakes, and Friendship, which earned a Charlotte Huck Honor, and The Cat Man of Aleppo, which won a Caldecott Honor. Irene lives on a lake in rural Alabama.

Junghwa Park was born in Bucheon, South Korea, and immigrated to the states with her family when she was seventeen. Art was her way to communicate without bounds over a language barrier. She studied BFA Illustration at the School of Visual Art and in 2020 won the SCBWI Grand Prize at the Winter Conference Portfolio Showcase. She now lives with a Shiba Inu, Ketchup, and her partner, Q, in Jersey City, NJ.
