About the Author

W. C. Tuttle (William Carey Tuttle) was an American author born on July 13, 1890, in Jacksonville, Oregon. Tuttle's passion for writing began at a young age, and he became a prolific author in the Western genre, producing over 60 novels and numerous short stories throughout his career.

Tuttle's early life was spent in Oregon, where he worked on his family's farm before attending the University of Oregon. After graduating in 1914, he worked as a journalist for several newspapers, including the Oregon Journal and the Los Angeles Times. In 1920, Tuttle moved to Hollywood, where he worked as a screenwriter for several film studios, including Paramount and Fox.

In 1927, Tuttle published his first novel, "The Adventurer," which was set in the Old West and established him as a popular author in the Western genre. Over the next several decades, he would write numerous bestsellers, including "Tumbling River Range," "Bar-20," and "Gunsmoke Over Wyoming," among others.

Tuttle's writing was known for its authentic depiction of life in the American West, as well as its memorable characters and gripping plots. His novels were often adapted for film and television, with notable adaptations including the popular TV series "The Lone Ranger" and "The Cisco Kid."

Tuttle continued to write prolifically until his death on August 6, 1956, in Santa Monica, California. His contributions to the Western genre continue to be celebrated today, and his novels remain popular with readers of all ages.
