About the Author

DENNIS O. STEVENS was born on the eastside of Detroit, Michigan, minutes from the beautiful historic Belle Isle Park and the magnificent Detroit River bordering the country of Canada, Ontario.

He began writing poems at the age of seven. As far as he can remember, he has always loved poetry. At the age of 14, he began keeping a record of his poems. Like many teenagers, he began to search for the meaning and purpose of life. Many of his earlier poems reflected this journey.

His search through different philosophies and religious, lead him to the One and Only God of the Bible and to Christ Jesus, his Lord and Savior. As he learned life’s lessons, the Holy Spirit blessed him to express the wisdom of God through writing poetry.

In the 1980’s, Stevens had a four-year midlife substance abuse crisis. Through the love, grace and mercy of God and the Narcotics Anonymous Program, he found deliverance.
The author still resides in Detroit, Michigan.
