Overview

Written in four acts presented across two parts, TRUMPED: An Alternative Musical is a satirical stage play that parodies the 2016 Presidential Election campaign of Donald Trump and his subsequent time in office as the 45th President of the United States.

Picking up some weeks after the conclusion of Part One, Act III opens as the President is presumed missing by his closest supporters, and Vladimir Putin is becoming tiresome of ruling from the front lines.

Act IV opens with an opportunity to discover how Trump's predecessor is coping with his post-presidential life and his thoughts on the upcoming Midterm elections. Leaving island life behind, the action then returns to Trump as he discovers that under his leadership, the Republican Party is set for a historic loss.

About the Author

A U.K.-based actor, writer, producer, comedian, publisher, and failed political candidate, Ben Fletcher was born in Essex in 1996.

With a strong focus on writing political satire, in addition to TRUMPED: An Alternative Musical and beginning work on an original play in a similar style covering events in the U.K., Fletcher has written multiple books parodying those of high- profile public figures including Donald Trump Jr., Rep. Matt Gaetz, and President Donald J. Trump.

His other comedy work includes creating multiple satirical "children's books" to help young people understand politics, writing Marco Rubio Is the Kind of Guy alongside American writer, Allison Floyd, and performing at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Since 2020, Fletcher has been a member of the Dramatists Guild of America.
