The Tristan and Trudee books reinforce responsible dog ownership, introduce children to the idea of volunteerism, and help them understand that animals also have feelings. Young readers can empathize with Tristan when he gets a haircut, sees his veterinarian, or goes to school. The series is also about friendship. The variety of Tristan’s experiences, along with the many locations and themes, make the books very enjoyable for children.
