About the Author

FRANCO TANEL, journalist and photographer, began his career in 1979 at the D-Day photography agency. He has worked for leading Italian photojournalism agencies, such as Contrasto and Grazia Neri. He focuses in particular on the sectors of transport and infrastructure, sustainable tourism and the environment, as well as on the issues associated with immigration. He has always combined the role of journalist with that of photographer. Tanel has been a contributor to Tuttotreno, the leading Italian railway magazine, since its very first issue and writes about transport and city planning for specialist periodicals published by Il Sole 24Ore.
