Would you like to have lived in the 1950s? Some of you probably did. It was the period in America of the Baby Boomers. It happened after World War II, which had ended several years before. So much historical events happened during that time. Tommie, lived during that period.
I had so many vivid memories of my life during that time. I decided to write a book about it. My life was deeply influenced by my Italian mom, dad, and relatives, and others during that time. Memories happen, go by, and soon after several generations, only God remembers them. What is told in this book is my attempt to preserve some of those memories of that special time in my life.
My dad and mom are both gone now. When I travel out to Sacramento, California, to visit my brother, sister, and cousins, memories start coming back. Seeing my old home, the River Park area, my relatives – memories begin to flood my mind. They are such precious memories and sometimes make me choke up just thinking of them.
In this book, I am reliving that particular period. The memories of that boy growing up during summertime. Tommie, A Week in the Life of a Ten-Year-Old – 1953!

About the Author

Tom, officially named Thomas C. Thomas was born in January 1943, during
WW II. Getting to like science and math as a young boy, Tom went on to
major in Chemistry in college. He started as a chemist with the U.S. Air Force
in 1965 and spent 35 years working with them, traveling around the world in
doing jobs for them. Retiring in 1998, he was encouraged by his senior pastor
to become Director of Missions at their church. Tom led people from the
church on mission trips all around the world, retiring from that in 2006.

Tom and his wife Karin developed an evangelistic ministry with International
Military, work with them, communicating, and travel all around the world
visiting them. They also travel, visit the kids and grand-kids, take cruises, and
have been in all 50 of our States, as well as numerous foreign countries. Tom
has written numerous books and articles, and has written over 100 Christian
devotionals for a devotional group.

Tom loves to fish in the mountains, golf, write, walk his dog Jenny, and
garden around home. As of this writing he and Karin will have been married 53
years. They have three kids; Chris, Liz, and Ami. They have five grandchildren;
Kristen, David, Ethan, Brie, and Karly. Tom considers himself to be blessed by
God!
