Overview

I was born to Finnish immigrants in Fairport Harbor, Ohio. My mother used to read Finnish children's stories to me which always involved little forest people. I grew to love them and their antics.

I was born and raised in an area with many trails and when my grandchildren were old enough, I took them on these same trails as well as into the woods in their parents' backyard. We started making up stories about trees and fungi along with our own imaginations! What fun!
