Overview

This book is a selection of poetry and stories that the author wrote when he was a struggling graduate student. During this difficult time in my life, the author was blessed to meet many wonderful people. Thanks to their support, the author survived.

Because the author had limited resources, he often wrote these poems and stories as gifts for important events such as weddings, birthdays and other celebrations. These gifts meant much to the recipients and they mean much to the author.

This book celebrates these old friendships and past loves.

About the Author

Eric L. Hayes is an author and self-taught artist who studied electrical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Stanford University. Using the principles behind the Logo educational programming language, he developed Commander Crayon to create digital works of art. Despite the fact that he does not draw or paint, his work has been seen in many shows, exhibits and homes.

He lives in Washington DC.
