TO POMPEII AND BEYOND
Are you a follower of the One who was crucified?"
Max asked.

Betrayed by his companions, Roman Tribune Marcus Maximus escapes certain death with the aid of two strangers, Lucius and Max, only to face a new threat, the trail of smoke flowing from Vesuvius. Marcus invites his new friends to his villa in Pompeii only to find a dwindling water supply, which must be the result of the mountain's odd behavior. Marcus leaves his pregnant Jewish wife, Devorah, at home, thinking she is safer there, and travels with his new friends to visit his uncle at nearby Misenum to find answers.

While in Misenum, Vesuvius erupts, separating Marcus and Devorah. But an apparition in full armor appears and gives Marcus clear directions.

"Gather provisions and make ready to go by ship to Ostia. Do not return to Pompeii, it is no more."

Marcus and Devorah find one another again in Ostia, and Marcus sees his one-month-old son Joshua for the first time. Then, as they travel to a new home in Britannia, the new family and their friends begin to learn more about El Shaddai, Yeshua, and "The Way." All ultimately arrive at a secure faith in turbulent times.

History and Bible enthusiasts will enjoy the familiar places in To Pompeii and Beyond: while all readers will enjoy getting to know Marcus, Devorah, and their companions in this fast-moving historical fiction account that weaves in internal and external dangers, all while the characters learn to believe in and trust God. Through it all, this story highlights the importance of family, friendship, and most of all, faith in Yeshua.
