Tipping the Scales
This is a book of poetry that is split into two sections. The first half is a series of poems that directly address binge eating, food addiction, and chronic dieting. It is the hope that readers with these issues may garner peace as well as solidarity that they are not alone. The second half of the poems depict real life experiences and relationships. Food addiction and dieting don't exist in a bubble. Exploring other topics via poetry, helps one to stay grounded and in turn helps to effectively deal with the subjects related to food.

About the Author

I have been a food addict, binge eater and chronic dieter all of my adult life. I have found that writing poetry not only gives me peace but also helps me to make healthier choices. It is my hope that my poetry resonates with others who have the same issues and reminds them that they are not alone. We can beat this and be stronger mentally as well as physically. When I am not writing, I work as a Direct Support Professional in a group home where I am responsible for a myriad of care tasks. The job is extremely fulfilling and provides a nice counterbalance to my writing. My heart belongs to my sons, Marshall and Austin, their families and my father. I have two guinea pigs, Griffy and Sly, who are sure to make me smile.
