About the Author

Lecturer at Strategic and Entrepreneurial Department of SDA Bocconi School of Management. Her main interests, both academic and professional, relate to firms’ strategic management and international competitiveness, with a special focus on symbolic/luxury businesses. She is the author of several books - in Italian and in English - including Challenges for the Italian Boating Industry (Egea, 2010), Clock Builders and Time Tellers, with G. Corbetta (Egea, 2009), and Miti da sfatare nel gioiello (Egea, 2007).
He belongs to a family with historical links to watchmaking. From 1850 until the early 20th century, his family managed a watch retailer and supply warehouse. Since 1984, he has been part of the Italian subsidiary of Richemont. He started out with Ebel, before moving to Piaget. From 1993 to 2002 he was director of Cartier’s watch division in Italy. Since 2002, he is IWC brand manager for Italy. In 2008, he became a delegate for the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie in Italy and Greece.
