About the Author

Stephen Lew earned his B.A. in Literature from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. He holds a Texas Secondary Teaching Certificate from the Texas Education Agency and a real estate salesperson's license from the Texas Real Estate Commission. He is an avid writer of fiction and poetry. He lives along the Texas Gulf Coast with his super-cool wife, and best friend, Kirsten, and his two ultra-awesome daughters, Oceana and Talitha.

A discordant group of four high school biology students must work together to produce a photographic class report on wild plants. They take a boat journey to a stretch of uninhabited land full of trees, brush, wild animals, and some very unusual findings. They soon find themselves in a severe lightning storm which becomes a catalyst for a time portal to open.

I got to tell you that this book is really enjoyable. The author did a great job with the characters he created. He went into great detail describing them and their lives. I felt like I really knew them after I read the story. The character dialogue was really entertaining too (I found myself laughing out loud lots of times). I liked the Lizard character the best.

The book gives the reader a look back into the past with lots of authentic history to keep you wanting to continue reading. The characters and their struggles to unite under very difficult and trying circumstances come across as genuine and believable.
