Overview

A mother wraps her newborn in her arms and falls in love at first sight. She counts each tiny finger and toe and offers up a prayer of thanksgiving and asks divine protection. From, first smile, first word, first step, first bare feet on grass, on to kindergarten through to college, she is there, carrying these cherished moments preserved in her heart. But she must let her child go, into the world. These are just some of the stops on the emotional journey of a mother's heart as she shares each of her child's milestones.
Time For You to Fly is sure to put words to the feelings that seem too incredible to describe. A tribute to the special bond between parents, grandparents, caregivers and child. Let your children know just how much you love them at every stage in their lives.
It can be difficult to express all of the unique yet universal feelings that warm a mother's heart. Through simple, poetic narrative, author Elaine Denald Stewart puts words to even the most complex sentiments of a mother's heart. With a selection of verses and prayer.

About the Author

The journey of writing has taken me down a long and mellow path. From the age of ten my love of words began with my evening arm chair travelogue of reading the Encyclopedia Britannica. Born and raised in Jamaica, while living in a gentle rural town among hospitable folks, who were steadily eking out a living from nature and the sea, I was left to observe, ponder and then be inspired. My young writing beginnings were born from these encounters.
And although halting and brief then, the stirrings to write never escaped my creative mind and sought to express themselves in musings that borrows from the imagery and nuance of my island home. But at age twelve my teachers denied my creative abilities, said they were too good to be mine, and sent me traumatized into hibernation that lasted decades.
