Tilting at Windmills
This lyrical novel celebrates the joys and tears of love lost and found, and of a life renewed in a most unexpected place

At thirty-four, Brian Duncan has it all. A trendy Manhattan life, a high-powered PR job, and a gorgeous fiancée with an exciting future of her own. Then, in a single moment of deception, Brian's world crumbles. Bitterly betrayed, he decides to toss away all he has worked for. Irresistibly drawn to the road, he leaves the city's busy streets behind. . .

On a hillside along New York's Hudson River Valley, Brian is transfixed by the beauty of an enormous windmill. Running toward it is a lovely little girl and her alluring mother, Annie Sullivan, who owns the windmill. The two strike a chord in Brian's heart and soon he discovers the small-town charms of Linden Corners--and of Annie, whose elusive quality matches his own questions about life. And as their relationship deepens into passion, through the force of nature and the hand of fate, Brian will learn that love comes in unexpected ways.

JOSEPH PITTMAN is the author of the beloved Linden Corners series: TILTING AT WINDMILLS, A CHRISTMAS WISH, A CHRISTMAS HOPE, THE MEMORY TREE, and CHASING WINDMILLS. Each book will be republished throughout 2020, with new covers.

His new project, coming soon, is his first foray into nonfiction. THE SHADOW DIARIES, a year-long diary "written" by his black lab, Shadow. Funny, heartfelt, inspring, silly, this book chronicles the life of a rescue dog as he settles into his forever home.

Other novels include reader favorites WHEN THE WORLD WAS SMALL, BEYOND THE STORM, and LEGEND'S END, all in eBook and audio.

His crime fiction includes the acclaimed Todd Gleason novels, LONDON FROG and CALIFORNIA SCHEMING. The novellas "The Perils of Penelope Pittston" and "The Antics of Anton Ardno" were collected in TWO TODD TALES, in eBook and audio; a second volume of novellas, TWO MORE TODD TALES, which includes "The Mystery of Marilyn and Her Men" and "The Business With the Bumbling Blind Man" is now available in eBook. A fifth novella is currently being written, and all five stories will appear in print under the title ALL TODD TALES later this year.

Also available is the three-part serial suspense novel, THE ORIGINAL CRIME, in eBook and audio: PART ONE: REMEMBRANCE; PART TWO: RETRIBUTION; PART THREE: REDEMPTION.

Under the Adam Carpenter name, he is the author of many titles, including the best-selling Jimmy McSwain Files, a detective series set in NYC, which includes HIDDEN IDENTITY, CRIME WAVE, STAGE FRIGHT, GUARDIAN ANGEL, FOREVER HAUNT, FRESH KILL and the forthcoming SECOND SHOT. All are available in print, eBook, and soon, audio.

Other series include the Cane's Inlet Mystery: SCANDALOUS LIES, SINISTER MOTIVES, and SUSPICIOUS TRUTHS; The Wonderland Scandal: DESPERATE HUSBANDS, DESPERATE LOVERS, and DESPERATE ENEMIES; the Edenwood Saga, EDEN'S PAST, EDEN'S PRESENT, and EDEN'S FUTURE.

Future works under the Pittman name include a new stand-alone novel, THE SILVER MOON, as well as the "Fortune Quartet," which will involve familiar friends from Linden Corners, as well as new characters. A sixth Linden Corners book, THE WINDMILL'S PROMISE, is also planned.
