About the Author

Joy Howard is the author of Disney Eats, as well as a freelance writer, recipe developer, and food stylist. She writes a regular column about kids and cooking for Eating Well magazine, and her work has appeared in projects for Parents, Burger King, Yankee Candle, Friendly’s, and Rizzoli publishing, to name a few. For six years, she was the food editor of Family Fun magazine, where she developed recipes and managed the publication’s on-site test kitchen. She lives in Western Massachusetts with her husband and daughters.

Gr 1–5—Fans of The Princess and the Frog can follow in Tiana's culinary footsteps with the 50 movie-inspired recipes in this cookbook. The recipes are graded on a level of difficulty from one (assembly-based recipes like Transforming Fruit Salad) to five (multistep dishes like Diner-Style Chicken and Biscuits), so there's something for chefs of any skill level. Each recipe includes a full-page photo of the finished product, a blurb about the dish, and an illustration from the movie, in addition to the serving size, ingredients, and directions. Many also include a helpful tip for the recipe, such as an ingredient swap or potential time-saver. The recipes include New Orleans classics (Chicken and Sausage Gumbo, Muffaletta Sandwich) as well as cheeky nods to the film and its characters (Princess Flatbread Pizza, Naveen-Style Green Beans).
