Thursday Haiku Day is a book written by Dustin Harris and illustrated by Abigail VanMuijen. Dustin began writing the haikus on Facebook every Thursday from 2010 to 2013. Most of the haikus depict the time of life he was going through at the time. Haikus can be enjoyed by everyone because they are condensed with feeling in a finite number of syllables. This is Dustin's first book but he has been writing poetry since he was six years old. He won a poetry contest in 8th grade with his poem "Love Coaster." This book is meant for everyone and the proceeds will be donated to Alzheimer's Research. Dustin's grandmother suffered from Alzheimer's and these poems are published in her memory.
