Overview

On the planet Cornu, humanity has found a way to escape the inevitably dark fate of Earth. Longer lifespans have reduced fertility, resulting in smaller populations and less rapid advancement. With significantly more women than men, the need to carry on the species has resulted in some marriages being between one man and more than one woman. Two kingdoms on the continent of Landia are now pitted against each other for the future of humankind. Nordia is a progressive and successful kingdom, while Porfia is a regressive haven of corruption.
King Leonades has his eye on Nordia, but the only path to controlling the kingdom involves eliminating its royal family. While war is almost unheard due to the untenably high cost of male casualties, assassinations, kidnappings, and other plots still exist. Leonades sets his sights on kidnapping the royal family and assassinating them. He hires a notorious bandit to set his plan in motion.
Once every hundred years, someone from Earth brings essential knowledge to Cornu or saves humanity when their fate hangs in the balance. Mike Mulvaney is one of those people. A scientist who joined the Marines after watching the World Trade Towers Fall, Mike has acquired the skills necessary to both save the royal family and provide needed skills to Cornu. How will he cope with this strange world? Will he keep the royal family safe and stop a disruption in the development of Cornu?
