Setting Up This Excerpt:
This scene takes place in the base-camp of Dr. Norel's Vortex Riders. The base is on an unnamed planet in another dimension.
The "Thrill Kings" have just returned from a Bleed Zone mission where they wrangled several aggressive interdimensional creatures, and then narrowly escaped an attack from soldiers sent by Colonel Bloch to steal their interdimensional vehicles.

The team has certainly earned the right to sit back and relax with friends.

But things don't turn out that way.

Rik Ty lives on the East Coast with his wife and children. He was a cartoonist for Marvel Comics and Cracked Magazine (among others). He was also the head designer of the Monster In My Pocket toyline, and a Design Manager for Toys Are Us.
