Thoughts out of Season, Part-I
The "Untimely Meditations," or "Thoughts out of Season," is a compilation of four pieces written by noted philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche between 1873 and 1876. In the first article 'David Strauss: the Confessor and the Writer', Nietzsche challenges David Strauss' "The Old and the New Faith: A Confession". Nietzsche provides an alternative method of understanding history in his second essay, 'On the Use and Abuse of History for Living,' in which experiencing life becomes the major goal. In the third article, 'Schopenhauer as Educator,' Nietzsche discusses how Schopenhauer's intellectual talent may lead to a revival of German culture. In the fourth and last essay, 'Richard Wagner in Bayreuth,' Nietzsche explores Richard Wagner's music, drama, and personality.
