This Is Where the World Ends
A heart-wrenching novel about best friends on a collision course with the real world from Amy Zhang, the critically acclaimed Indies Introduce and Indie Next author of Falling into Place.
Janie and Micah, Micah and Janie. That’s how it’s been ever since elementary school, when Janie Vivien moved next door. Janie says Micah is everything she is not. Where Micah is shy, Janie is outgoing. Where Micah loves music, Janie loves art. It’s the perfect friendship—as long as no one finds out about it. But then Janie goes missing and everything Micah thought he knew about his best friend is colored with doubt.
Using a nonlinear writing style and dual narrators, Amy Zhang masterfully reveals the circumstances surrounding Janie’s disappearance in an astonishing second novel that will appeal to fans of Lauren Oliver.

Being that contemporary is my absolute favorite genre, my “must-read” list is far longer than this, but apparently it’s frowned upon to […]
One of our favorite things to zero in on here at the B&N Teen Blog is YA’s that “Get it Right,” i.e. that seem to perfectly portray some element of the human experience. As new YAs emerge, we get to add more and more of them to the small but illustrious list, though of course, there […]
Spring is coming, and with it a whole barrel load of YA books so good I’d tramp through a late-season blizzard in flip-flops to get to them. The month’s most exciting releases include stellar debuts, tricky thrillers, stories of loss and healing, and a fairy tale–inflected beauty that’ll mess with your head. Find a comfy chair and get […]
There are many ways to find new books to read. Some people like to head to their nearest Barnes & Noble and spend a few hours quietly perusing. Others like to skim through the reviews and order online. Still others prefer to just buy a bunch of new books and then reread Harry Potter for […]
