About the Author

Elizabeth Buchheit grew up on a small island named Broad Channel, located in Jamaica Bay, NY. She attended a small Catholic school named St. Virgilius. It was there that she met her future husband Donald Bruckner. They began dating after he had completed college and was a pilot in the US Air Force. Life as an Air Force wife meant moving to Texas, Ohio and then New Mexico. Elizabeth and Don raised four amazing children and mourned the loss of their son Stephen who lived only for a day. Throughout their lives together the couple focused on their faith and traditions. Don served as a Catholic deacon for over 40 years and Elizabeth served by his side. Unfortunately, Don passed away in 2016. It has been difficult to traverse life without him. Elizabeth has relied on her faith, family and friends.
