About the Author

Gretchen Lodderhose was born in 1968 in the seaside town of Newport, Rhode
Island. In 1972 she moved with her family to the beautiful city of San Francisco,
California. Inspired by the city’s charm, she began writing poetry and short stories
at nine years old.

As a teenager, she was drawn back to the East Coast and arrived in Brooklyn,
New York in 1985. Over the next twenty-five years, she experienced the effects
of ill-prepared and thoughtless decisions. Growing from these lessons, she used
the strength she developed to carry her through the challenges she would face as
a single parent.

In 2011, her sister Mercy succumbed to cervical cancer; this loss would ignite a fire
in her to find a holistic approach to feminine healthcare issues. After dedicating
thirty-seven years to the private and public sectors, she switched her focus and
became a certified hypnotherapist, reiki worker, and yoni steam practitioner.

The mother of four daughters and four sons, Gretchen, lives in the San Francisco
Bay Area. Things Mama Should’ve Told You is her first published work.
