Chapter One

When I jump out of bed and I look in the mirror, my hair's like a monster's. it makes my cat shiver!

When I fall in a puddle right up to my chin, even my dog can't believe what a mess I am in!

Through the mud and the tangles, and the bruise on my kneee,

God looks past the mess to the Princess in me!

When I'm not very kind and I hurt someone's feelings,

I know being mean is not too appealing.

When I think of myself and it's all about me, When I don't take the time for my friends or family,

Even when I am thoughtless, here's a gift that is free: It's God who declares, there's a Princess in me!

"God has chosen you and made you his holy people. He loves you. So always do these things: Show mercy to others; be kind, humble, gentle, and patient." -Colossians 3:12

When my head has a cold and I sneeze and I sneeze ...

When my nose is stuffed up and I simply can't breathe,

When I cough and I cough and I'm wrapped up in bed, and it feels like an elephant sits on my head ...

When I'm all by myself just as sick as can be,

I have to remember, there's a Princess in me!

When I'm very afraid and it's dark in my room,

And the shadows are creepy and hiding the moon,

When I don't want to ride ... the new ride in the park ...

Or a humongous dog makes me jump with its bark ...

When I want to be brave, but there are thing that SCARE me,

I have to remember, there's a Princess in me!

So I think to myself, in the good and the bad,

In my very best days, or when I am mad,

When I'm all dressed in pink and my socks are still white,

or when the food on my clothes is a terrible sight.

God says I am precious. I'm his child, don't you see? And that's how I know ...

There's a Princess in me!

"The Father has loved us so much ... that we are called children of God." -1 John 3:1
