This is the sequel to Lisa's highly acclaimed Meghan and Harry's Alternative Universe published in March 2023.
In that novel, Meghan and Harry burst onto the scene in December 2022 with their endless parade of self-promotion: Netflix's Harry & Meghan; then the podcast Live to Lead; then the wild, early release of Harry's inflammatory memoir Spare; followed by the endless gabfest book tour.
Then, implosion: from the golden couple with the Midas touch to shunned and reviled grifters in 90 days!
It also mirrors the epic failure and tale of Icarus, a character from Greek Mythology. Because of his hubris and unbridled self-absorbed ambition, Icarus flew too close to the sun with disastrous results.
This story picks up in early 2023 and finds Meghan and Harry unexpectedly reeling from the disastrous PR fallout from the publication of Spare and its aftermath as the couple try to regain their relevancy on the world stage.
They have lost the Midas touch and instead seem to lurch from one failed or misconceived idea to another. At the same time, the Coronation of Harry's father, King Charles III, looms in the distance as another impending sign of their diminished stature.
It's almost as if the Greek Gods are not yet done with Meghan and Harry.
