About the Author

Mark Hines is a professional ultra-endurance athlete and adventurer, from Hertfordshire, England. He is an exercise physiologist and biomechanist, having worked professionally as a lecturer in colleges and universities in London and Surrey. He has written books on his first three ultra-marathon adventure races in the Sahara, Amazon and Yukon, respectively, and on nutrition and human evolution.
