About the Author

Janiece Johnson earned her PhD in American history at the University of Leicester in England. She is currently a visiting professor in the Religion Department at BYU-Idaho.

Jennifer Reeder earned her PhD in American history at George Mason University in Virginia. She is currently the nineteenth-century women's history specialist in the Church History Department.

Both Janiece and Jenny have spent years as research assistants, editors, and writers with the Joseph F. Smith Institute for Latter-day Saint History, the Church History Library, and various Academic institutions, and they have worked on extensive projects including The First Fifty Years of Relief Society and the forthcoming At the Puppet: 185 Years of Discourses by Latter-day Saint Women.
